The motto of the Trans-Siberian Railway tour should be: “The journey is the reward!”. Unique beautiful sceneries which you see out of your window are changing from endless woods of Taiga to steppes and even deserts on the route; the stops in different cities are short but you always have time to buy local products: fresh beer and dried fish or some typical pastries along with a bottle of decent Russian champagne (only about $3 in the kiosks at the train stations) will guarantee you a cozy starter in your compartment before going to have a meal at the dining car. You will have an amusing time in your comfortable 1st or 2nd class compartment and a chance to make friends with co-travelers on the train. The first Railway connection between Moscow and Vladivostok was finished in the year 1905. The route is almost 6000 miles long and the Trans-Siberian Railway for a long time was the only means of transportation through the vast dimensions of Siberia. Today it is still very important: Many Russians use the Train to get (usually) from Siberia to Central Russia and back. Against one’s expectation there is still very few trains that are being used for tourists only! We have given the name “caviar” to this tour as it goes through the Russia’s greatest waterways. From Baikal lake (or Baikal sea as it’s often referred to) you travel on to Khabarovsk, where caviar is sold in the market like cucumbers and finally to the Far East port Vladivostok, where the most capricious gourmets can be absoltulely satisfied with the seafood menu!
ItineraryDAY 1 - MOSCOW

Arrival to Moscow. Transfer from the airport to the place of accommodation. To travel to Russia without visiting Moscow - means to see nothing in Russia. This city is really the city of contrasts. It has seen military parades on Red Square, KGB, Lenin and Solzhenitsyn. It is home for Bolshoy Theatre, Tretyakov Gallery and Pushkin Museum. History, art, religion, politics, adventure, romance, night life - whatever you are looking for, you will find it in Moscow. Overnight.

DAY 2 - MOSCOW

Breakfast at the hotel. Optional sightseeing: Moscow City Tour - main streets, squares and places of interest: the Tverskaya street the most animated and saucy, the former headquarters of the KGB, Russian White House, the Red Square, the Cathedral of St. Basil the Blessed, the Cathderal of Christ the Saviour, the Bolshoy Theatre, etc. Moscow Kremlin and Kremlin Cathedrals - the Kremlin has always been perceived as a symbol of power and might of the Russian land. Each era of Russian history lefts it’s architectural mark on the Kremlin; within the Kremlin walls there are many architectural monuments, churches, cathedrals, museums, etc. Overnight.

DAY 3 - MOSCOW

Breakfast at the hotel. Optional sightseeing: Kolomenskoye Estate Museum - a Great Princes’ mansion in the XIV-XVII centures. It is the unique art, historical, architectural and nature-landscape museum-reserve, situated in the South region of Moscow. Nowadays it is a remarkable place to enjoy Russian folklore performance such as wedding-game, skomorokhs-buffoons and songs. Departure for Irkutsk at 23:24; train «Baikal», number 010I, Moscow-Irkutsk The train goes via the following destinations: Moscow - Vladimir - Nizhny Novgorod - Yaroslavl - Perm - Yekaterinburg - Tyumen - Omsk - Novosibirsk - Krasnoyarsk - Irkutsk.

DAY 4,5,6 - ON THE TRAIN

DAY 7 - IRKUTSK

Arrival to Irkutsk. Transfer to the place of accommodation. Often called the “Paris of Siberia”, Irkutsk city is one of the oldest and most charming cities in the country. Irkutsk today is a reflection of mixed cultures - traders from the east and exiles from the west. Irkutsk is a major stop on the Trans-Siberian railroad because it is situated not far from the world’s deepest lake, Lake Baikal.

DAY 8 - LAKE BAIKAL

Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out. Transfer to Listvyanka, a village on the shore of the Lake Baikal. Optional sightseeing on the way: Taltsy museum, Baikal museum. Accommodation and overnight.

DAY 9 - LAKE BAIKAL

Breakfast at the hotel. Optional sightseeing: a walk to the Lake Baikal, Hiking, Trip to the Chersky Railway via cable railway, Circum-Baikal Railroad. Overnight.

DAY 10 - LAKE BAIKAL

Breakfast. Transfer to the railway station in Irkutsk. Departure for Khabarovsk with train «Sibir», number 008N, Irkutsk-Khabarovsk. Distance en-route: 3340km.

DAY 11 - ON THE TRAIN

DAY 12 - KHABAROVSK

Arrival to Khabarovsk. Transfer from the railway station to the place of accommodation. The history and development of Khabarovsk is owed to General-Governor of East Siberia, Murav’ev-Amursky. He became known as the ‘father’ of Khabarovsk because he established this new military settlement on the Amur River. The Governor called the new outpost Khabarovka in honor of one of the remarkable “pioneers” of the Amur land, Erofei Khabarov. For quite a long time the city remained a small port on the Amur River and a transportation spot of the long Siberian Way. Optional sightseeing: City tour of Khabarovsk. Overnight.

DAY 13 - KHABAROVSK

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the railway station. Departure for Vladivostok with train «Ocean», number 006E, Khabarovsk-Vladivostok. Distance en-route: 766km.

DAY 14 - VLADIVOSTOK Arrival to Vladivostok. Transfer from the railway station to the place of accommodation. Vladivostok (”Ruler of the East”) is often compared to San Francisco due to the many hills and ocean views, and is one of the most beautiful cities in Russia. As one of only four major seaports, Vladivostok is Russia’s window to Asia, as it is located less than 100km east of the Chinese border, and just across the main Japanese Island of Honshu. Home base to the Russian Pacific Fleet, the city was closed to all non-Soviets from 1958 until 1991. Stay in Vladivostok for 3 nights. Optional sightseeing: Submarine in Vladivostok.
