DescriptionThere is a fantastic place at the shore of the Lake Baikal - a single line dead-end railway, referred to as Circum Baikal Railway. A place, where the tranquil and measured course of events is broken only twice a day by a train of two carriages, and tourists who mob here all year round. This trekking program lets you see the best of the Siberia nature wonders, experience Siberian Banya and the Russian lifestyle at a friendly family!
ItineraryDAY 1

Transfer by boat to Port Baikal.
Trekking on Circum Baikal route with guide for the whole day.

A hundred years ago, on October 16, 1905, the planet celebrated construction of another world wonder. The forbidding rocks, terrific precipices, treacherous landslips, boisterous torrents were conquered by unique constructions, created by the Russian engineering maestros.
This is the place where at a narrow strip of the Lake Baikal shore masonry of portals and tunnels runs into pictureaque rocks. The plains opening up before your eyes are lived in by tiny villages, built surpisingly well for this godforsaken borough.
It is a unique complex monument - a historical, architecture and landscaping reserved area on the territory of Baikal Government Nature National Park at the south-western shore of the Baikal Lake and embracing the site from Baikal railway station to Slyudyanka station, once a component part of the projected railway Irkutsk - Mysovaya of the Siberian Railway. On this territory unmatching monuments of ingeneering-technical art are situated - tunnels and galleries, bridges and viaducts, architecture monuments. There’s no other place on this longest railway on the Earth where so many masterpieces would be exhibited. The whole complex has remained unchanged over the century - 56 tunnels and galleries, 248 bridges and viaducts, 173 architectural monuments at the area of just 85 km of a rocky shore between Baikal and Kutuk. The Circum Baikal Complex also includes natural memorials from the point of view of geology, mineralogy, zoology and biology.
